Kitutu Masaba Technical and Vocational College has taken a monumental leap forward in technical and digital education with the grand opening of its state-of-the-art Computer Laboratory. This facility is designed to provide students with hands-on experience using cutting-edge hardware and industry-standard software, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world digital skills.
The launch event, attended by college leadership, faculty, students, and industry partners, showcased the lab’s capabilities through demonstrations in high-speed computing, 3D design and animation, software development, and cybersecurity simulations.
Inside the Computer Lab
- High-Performance Workstations equipped with powerful processors, advanced graphics cards, and ultra-fast SSDs for seamless operation of demanding software.
- Dedicated Programming & Cybersecurity Zone featuring secure, isolated networks for coding, network security training, and ethical hacking exercises.
- Graphics & Multimedia Suite with industry-standard software for video editing, 3D modeling, animation, and digital graphic design.
- Centralized Server Room with robust networking infrastructure to support high-speed data transfer, cloud computing exercises, and virtual machine management.

Academic Integration
The new computer lab will be integral to all departments across the college. Students from Business, Engineering, Media, and other programs will have scheduled lab hours for coursework that includes software development, computer-aided design (CAD), digital marketing analytics, and financial modeling.
Industry Partnerships
Kitutu Masaba TVC has secured partnerships with leading tech companies and software providers. These collaborations will provide students with access to the latest software licenses, specialized training modules, and opportunities for internships and industry-certification programs.
“With a facility of this caliber, our students will graduate with a digital skill set and a portfolio of work that makes them highly competitive in the job market from day one,” Mr. Nyabaro added.
Community Access
The lab will also serve the wider community by being available for evening and weekend digital literacy workshops, coding boot camps for local youth, and as a resource center for local entrepreneurs and small businesses, reinforcing the college’s role as a pillar of technological advancement in the region.
